Walk Along Al Corniche

10:04 PM Friday 6 March 2009

Today is Friday, so it is a Holy day and a day off for many. You can tell it is a day off by the light morning traffic. We headed out to the Sheraton Corniche for a wonderful buffet breakfast. After a most satisfying breakfast, we lounged outside the restaurant in some most comfortable chairs (see photo) and then decided to walk back to the apartment along the water side of the Corniche.

It was a beautiful sunny morning, with a pleasant, if steady, breeze off the water which helped keep us comfortable during the walk back. Even the brick pavement was comfortable to walk on, with no beveled edges like the sidewalks on the other side of the road.

If you had been following us, you would have seen me straggling behind, snapping photos with my camera.

Below you will find several photos I took this morning. Isn't the water a most beautiful color?

After a much needed rest, we headed out to dinner at Indigo in the Beach Rotana, http://www.rotana.com/ - an absolutely lovely dinner. The butter chicken was fantastic...everything was first rate and delicious to the extreme. Recommended.

A surprise for me was that the Abu Dhabi Mall is attached to the Beach Rotana - I found a great CD at the Virgin Music store, performed by Melhem Zein, a Lebanese singer (http://www.rotana.net/).

More errands to run tomorrow, time to get ready for bed.

My best to all, "M'a sa-laama-a" (go with peace).
